Penalty for Early Maturity of a Certificate:
Terms through 6 months: 30 days interest on amount withdrawn.
Terms 12 months through 24 months: 90 days interest on amount withdrawn. Terms over 24 months: 180 days interest on amount withdrawn. There is no difference in the penalty for an IRA or REG share
certificate. If the penalty is more than the accrued dividends, it will come from the principal of the certificate.
